Depending on the type of prepaid card issued, it will be good at almost any merchant, or only at a select group of merchants determined by the issuer. For debit cards from My Prepaid Center, if they are branded with a Visa or Discover logo, they will be accepted anywhere those cards are taken. Debit cards issued by My Prepaid Center are not reloadable, so once the initial balance is used, they can be disposed of (and since there’s no personal information on these debit cards, there’s no financial danger to doing that). In Canada, MasterCard prepaid cards are issued by Peoples Trust Company. Please note by logging in to My Prepaid Center, customers who already have a prepaid debit card can view the most recent transaction from their account, see how much remains on the card, and even pause activity on their card.
What if a card from My Prepaid Center is lost or stolen?
If a prepaid card from My Prepaid Center is lost or stolen, the cardholder should contact Customer Account Services, and a new card will be issued for the amount that was remaining on the card. The new card from My Prepaid Center should arrive in less than 15 days.
